Well here it is.  The first set of my "Acrylic Texture" PS Brushes series.  After the success of my first Acrylic Brush set, I figured it was time to revisit the medium.  It was a lot of fun putting these together so please go out and enjoy them! For this set I went with a more circular design, which I find handy as it gives you a different feel from any angle.  If you're more into brush strokes, look for the second set of this series.  The brushes will still be circularish (round?), but will have more defined brush strokes on the edges. Hey all. I have 2 new sets of Hi-Res PS Brushes coming out very soon. The sets will be titled "Acrylic Texture" with one set focusing on brush strokes and the other a little more abstract as shown. I have all the brushes painted, it's just a matter of scanning, tweaking, and testing. In the past I have done all of my brushes through taking pictures of them and then importing them into photoshop. This will be my first set done with a scanner. I'm very pleased and impressed with the results so far. The scanner is far superior in my view. I guess I've been a little busy creating posters and taking pictures to come up with some new freebies, so I'm hoping to change that in the next few weeks.  I think it's time for a new brush set. Anyways.  I tried my hand at cross processing some film.  It's basically when you develop a film in one chemical when it is supposed to be developed in another.  It's highly unpredictable and can yield some good/bad results.  I shot two rolls over the last two days.  Here's what I came up with.  Enjoy. So I have really been enjoying delving into the deep world of graphic design and have been loving every minute of it.  Over the past few months I have been really toying around with Adobe Illustrator and trying to unlock its vast potential.  All I can say is, Illustrator is one of the best tools for any graphic designer. Side story: I drank too much coffee the other night and couldn't fall asleep, so I decided to put my time to use by designing some more posters, and trying out some different things in illustrator.  I hope you like what I have come up with.  Feel free to post your comments and opinions. Seabear is pretty good stuff. An Icelandic band self labeled as Indie/Experimental/Folk, they are definitely something a little bit different, and different in a good way. I love listening to something that sounds refreshing and good, not something that's just "different". I've listened to too many bands claiming to be "different" and find them lacking musical talent and an overall freshness. Seabear breaks both of these walls, they are both "different" (in a good way) and carry an elegant freshness. So enough talk. More listen. Here it is.  My first music pick of the week.  Belaire: A synth, prog inspired band hailing from Austin, TX.  I first heard them a couple months back and am not generally a fan of their style (Indie/Electro/Pop), but upon first listen, fell in love with their lush tones and quirky, charmingly refreshing vocals.  This is a music video of my favorite song of theirs, "You Really Got Me Goin' ".  The music video is pretty retro, and a little bizzare at times, but goes surprisingly well with the feel of their music.  Check them out and let me know if you like them!
