I guess I've been a little busy creating posters and taking pictures to come up with some new freebies, so I'm hoping to change that in the next few weeks.  I think it's time for a new brush set. Anyways.  I tried my hand at cross processing some film.  It's basically when you develop a film in one chemical when it is supposed to be developed in another.  It's highly unpredictable and can yield some good/bad results.  I shot two rolls over the last two days.  Here's what I came up with.  Enjoy.

So I have really been enjoying delving into the deep world of graphic design and have been loving every minute of it.  Over the past few months I have been really toying around with Adobe Illustrator and trying to unlock its vast potential.  All I can say is, Illustrator is one of the best tools for any graphic designer. Side story: I drank too much coffee the other night and couldn't fall asleep, so I decided to put my time to use by designing some more posters, and trying out some different things in illustrator.  I hope you like what I have come up with.  Feel free to post your comments and opinions.

Seabear is pretty good stuff. An Icelandic band self labeled as Indie/Experimental/Folk, they are definitely something a little bit different, and different in a good way. I love listening to something that sounds refreshing and good, not something that's just "different". I've listened to too many bands claiming to be "different" and find them lacking musical talent and an overall freshness. Seabear breaks both of these walls, they are both "different" (in a good way) and carry an elegant freshness. So enough talk. More listen. Here it is.  My first music pick of the week.  Belaire: A synth, prog inspired band hailing from Austin, TX.  I first heard them a couple months back and am not generally a fan of their style (Indie/Electro/Pop), but upon first listen, fell in love with their lush tones and quirky, charmingly refreshing vocals.  This is a music video of my favorite song of theirs, "You Really Got Me Goin' ".  The music video is pretty retro, and a little bizzare at times, but goes surprisingly well with the feel of their music.  Check them out and let me know if you like them! So, I've been slightly fatigued, and quite lethargic to the whole blogging thing lately.  My apologies.  I decided it was time for something different, something to keep me going.  That's why I've decided to completely overhaul the look of THE SHOREWAYS.  Please let me know what you think of the changes I have made to the site, and let me know if you notice any problems with the conversion process. I'm excited about blogging again. Here's what to look out for in the upcoming days and weeks. Lots of Textures. (paper, leaves, grunge, cement) Some Vector art (birds and stuff like that) I bought a ridiculously old (circa 1940) box camera on eBay and can't wait to shoot with it (Ansco Shur-Shot Jr.) Some new posters.  I'm hoping to get some printed and sell them eventually. I am working on some music.  I'm thinking of releasing an EP labeled "A Different Methodology" so keep your ears pricked for that. It's new brush time.  A pack of 20 hi-resolution watercolour brushes perfect for textures, overlays, and even poster making.  The smallest brush in the set is 1931 px, with most of them hovering around 2300 px.  This is my favorite set to date. The Apple iPhone.  A very popular handheld cellular device that people can't seem to live without.  At the risk of seeming silly, I do not have an iPhone, but I'm dedicating an entire post to it.  Why you ask?  Because I think they are pretty neat.  While I may not have an iPhone, I know that some of YOU do, and since I am a generous kindhearted individual, I wanted to share the love and put together a little set of Free iPhone Wallpapers for your enjoyment.  Along the way of creating these, I have come up with a few pointers if you yourself wish to set out on making your own iPhone Wallpapers. 1. If you wish to download any of these images, do not download them directly from your iPhone.  For whatever reason, the image quality is not what it should be, it looks as if some compression is taking place, which is likely.  So, Download the images to your computer then upload them via itunes.  :) 2. For those of you just noticing the world around you, a refrigerator is a blessed miracle of mankind intended to keep things chilled.  The refrigerator is basically all of Alaska in a rectangular box. Unlike my bottom draw, in my dresser, that I have suspiciously dubbed the “beverage zone”, refrigerators actually have legitimate cooling properties and not just wood panels.  The beverage zone is pretty cool in it’s own right because it has delicious drinks, however, it does not posses the raw power of the Alaskan wilderness. Firstly.  You can keep your drinks cold.  This is awesome!  Cold drinks are always better than lukewarm ones, and science agrees with me.   Cold drinks make your body happy because you lose weight.  In order to maintain homeostasis, your body has to stay at or around 98.6 degrees, so cold drinks make your body colder, and in order to survive your body has to use energy to heat up, thus making you less fat and more happy.  Science ftw. Secondly, refrigerators usually come with two zones of cooling.  The regular, or "Alaska" zone, and the more Frigid Zone, which I refer to as “Antarctica”.  Why?  Well simply because it’s the “Coldest Place on Earth”. It's been a little while since my last post, but rest assured I have not been idle.  I've been slightly more busy than usual trying to maintain my grade in my Accounting class.  If you can avoid taking a semester long Accounting class in only 6 weeks, I would highly recommend it.
